February 18, 2016

Heise Online is Germans most important source for IT-related news. They’ve mentioned us in an article due to our Keynote we had on the 4th of February at the OOP conference about “See the world like a Terminatore – Augmented Reality with Oculus Rift”.

For our English audience a translation of the part mentioning us:

A forecast about the future of  the interconnected future was done by Martin Förtsch and Thomas Endres from TNG Technology Consulting GmbH. For their Keynote they’ve extended an Oculus Rift with two RGB-cameras with which you can enable the the Oculus Rift to see the world in 3D mixed with Augmented-Reality elements. Another feature was the integrated face recognition and identificiation. At the Live-Demo on stage he introduced himself with his name. Later on the modified Oculus Rift was able to identify him. The virtual picture contained the name of the person. Within a conversation with heise Developer the both computer scientist told  that they’ve planned to let the Nao robot of Aldebran Robotics walk on stage. Currently they are working on a new project with Nao, Augmented Reality, 3D-cameras and Telepresencerobotics. (Source: http://www.heise.de/developer/artikel/developer_artikel_3098714.html)
