OOP 2016 Keynote now available on YouTube

It is the very first time that we publish a whole German spoken video but this time it was a premiere for us to have the OOP conference Keynote. The OOP has had its 25th anniversary and we held our keynote “See like a Terminator – Augmented Reality with Oculus Rift”. Enjoy!

In the meantime we are working hard on our new talk “Avatar – Telepresencerobotics with Nao and Kinect”. Premiere is at TNG Technology Consulting GmbH Big Techday on 3rd of June 2016 in Munich! We hope to present this talk in different languages on conferences all over the world again as it was the case with the “See like a Terminator” talk!

Yesterday evening we held a shortened version of our talk about the TNG AugmentedRift at the NerdNite in Munich. We had a very good time, especially when our colleague Manuel was walking around the audience with the Oculus on.

We’re in the middle of a conference marathon at the moment.

At the Javaland conference in the Phantasialand in Brühl near Cologne we had a booth, but were also present at the Javaland innovation lab. We held a talk about the TNG AugmentedRift and gave an interview for the virtual JUG at the Nighthacking Stage. You can watch our interview here.


At the CeBIT faire in Hannover we held our talk about the AugmentedRift at the heise Developer World. But we also had a Techlounge interview about the history of gesture control for MobileGeeks at the Intel booth. You can see the complete interview here.

Today (19.03.2016) we will give a talk at the online conference Virtual Reality with the best. Next week, we will be giving a presentation about Augmented Reality at the Nerd Nite in Munich. And in April, we will be present at the IoT Tech Day in Utrecht in the Netherlands.


Parrots On MWC

Last week the ParrotsOnJava team was visiting the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. With TNG Technology Consulting GmbH we were presenting the TNG Augmented Rift as well as our arcade bird shooter game Parrot Attacks. But we also got a hold on many of the new AR glasses coming out soon.

Our booth was also visited by the bavarian state secretary Dorothee Bär.

A forecast about the future of  the interconnected future was done by Martin Förtsch and Thomas Endres from TNG Technology Consulting GmbH. For their Keynote they’ve extended an Oculus Rift with two RGB-cameras with which you can enable the the Oculus Rift to see the world in 3D mixed with Augmented-Reality elements. Another feature was the integrated face recognition and identificiation. At the Live-Demo on stage he introduced himself with his name. Later on the modified Oculus Rift was able to identify him. The virtual picture contained the name of the person. Within a conversation with heise Developer the both computer scientist told  that they’ve planned to let the Nao robot of Aldebran Robotics walk on stage. Currently they are working on a new project with Nao, Augmented Reality, 3D-cameras and Telepresencerobotics. (Source:

First Episode of our new YouTube show

January 10, 2016 just started to make a new YouTube show were the authors Thomas Endres and Martin Förtsch are speaking about technology.

In the first Episode we talk about our own path through different 3D-cameras of different manufacturers and resulting showcases within the last years.

Our YouTube show should cover interesting things in the topics of 3D-cameras, Gesture Control, IoT and Augmented Reality. As we do have access to early hardware prototypes you can expect most up-to-date informations of newest developments in technology. Expect the very first appearance of the Intel RealSense SR300!
